First step in crafting a leather sheath is to design the sheath.
After the design is approved the pieces are cut out and the design is carved and textured into the leather.
The pieces are glued up with leather contact cement.
Our maker’s mark is stamped on the back and final carving is completed. Stitch marks and boarders are placed and all edges are polished .
Now it’s time to dye / stain the leather. Oil based dyes are predominantly used for best look and longevity.
Final gluing of any remaining pieces are done and it’s time to hand stitch the parts together.
